Breast Enlargement Doctors

Given the premium that society places on having the adequate breast size, most women who have "less than the ideal" breast sizes often feel insecure and would want to take some steps that can help them achieve a fuller breast size. One of the options that women can take is surgery, which has become one of the most common "interventions" that have been employed to augment the breast size of women. However, given the nature of the procedure, women need to be aware not only of what the surgery can do for them but they also need to be aware of a number of things, which include the risk factors and on what options they can take if something goes wrong. The best source of this information is a physician, who can explain everything a woman needs to know before going under the knife for breast enlargement surgery.

Questions to ask your doctor about breast enlargement

One of the most important things that a woman who is considering undergoing breast augmentation surgery can do is to go on frequent consultations with her doctor because this can provide her with very important information. During these consultations, a woman should relay any questions or apprehensions she may have, which can help her make the right decisions. Among these questions, one of the most important is to ask about the risk factors involved in the procedure because this can help a woman weigh the pros and cons of having the procedure done.

Another very important question is to ask about the type of results that she can expect, as this would help set the right set of expectations with regard to the results of the procedure. In addition to these, a woman should also ask about the total cost of having the procedure done, which should include other costs apart from the cost of the surgery. More importantly, women should also talk and ask about the emotional aspect of having the procedure done, as this can be very helpful in making a woman prepare herself for the effects of the procedure, which include being treated differently by people.

Undergoing breast augmentation surgery is one of the most popular and common options that women take to help them achieve a fuller breast size. However, this does not mean that women should take the decision of having their breasts done lightly, as they need to be aware of a number of important things, which include the risks involved in the surgery. The good news is that doctors are more than willing to provide very helpful information, which can make the decision of getting breast implants an intelligent one.

Natural Breast Enlargement

Natural breast enlargement is a non-surgical alternative for women who wish to increase their breast size. Many women, unhappy with their current breast size look for a natural way to increase their bust size because they fear the complications associated with surgical implants or dislike the feel of artificially enlarged breasts.

There are many natural breast enlargement methods or products an individual can choose from. These include herbal breast enlargement pills, creams, sprays, pumps, and the Brava system. In addition to these, there are breast enhancing exercises and hypnosis.

Breast enlargement pills are formulated on the basis of scientific research that breast size is determined by the level of hormones produced in the body at the time of puberty. Manufacturers of these pills claim that the herbs and natural elements contained in the pills induce hormone-like activity similar to that found in a female body at the time of puberty to produce new breast tissue.

Breast enlargement creams are identical to pills with respect to the composition of ingredients. The cream promotes the growth of breast tissues by naturally balancing the female hormones.

Individuals taking breast enlargement pills or applying creams have to use the product over a period of two or more months to find any noticeable result. The results are not instant and the full benefits can be had only after six months of starting the treatment.

The Brava system is a battery charged bra-like device that works by creating suction and inducing the breast tissue to grow approximately one full cup size. The device is to be worn for 10 hours a day for 10 consecutive weeks. However the company cautions that any woman with a family history of cancer should not use it.

Breast enhancing exercises lift the breast tissue by increasing the bulk of the muscles that lies under the breasts. Exercising does not increase the size of the breast but gives a firmer look and feel by developing the chest muscles underneath the breast. Pushups, palm pushes, finger locks, and forearm grips are some of the exercises suggested to produce the desired result.

Proponents of hypnosis promise permanent increase in breast size by 1-4inches in 8-12 weeks by their hypnotherapy. The therapy is based on the principle that there is a direct link between the mind and the body. The mind communicates with parts of the body and causes the body to respond to its command.

Users of breast enlargement products must always assure themselves of the validity and credibility of the manufacturer’s claims and make sure that the manufacturer has been in existence for a time. Users should not be carried away by the low price of the product and should always be cautious of the positive and negative aspects of the ingredients used.

While some users discard the natural breast enlargement methods as a waste of time and money, others claim that their trust in the natural methods has produced results.

Herbal Breast Enlargement

Herbal breast enlargement is promoted as a non-surgical solution to increase breast size. It is a natural breast enlargement formula that promises fuller, firmer breasts with no adverse side effects. Herbal enlargement products are available in the form of pills that use one or more combinations of herbs and food plants. These various plant ingredients are in the form of naturally occurring non-hormonal plant estrogens, which have hormone like activity that stimulate a female body to produce new breast tissues. Herbal breast enlargement products contain ingredients that are obtained form herbs such as saw palmetto, fenugreek seed extract, wild yam, fennel seed, dong quai root, and dandelion root.

During puberty, the female body naturally produces estrogens that help to develop new tissue that makes breasts grow. Based on this fact, manufacturers of herbal products have come up with natural herbs that contain high level of estrogens. For example, saw palmetto, wild yam, and fennel seed contain high levels of natural estrogens that the manufacturers claim promote the growth of breast tissue. Fenugreek is also recommended by naturopaths to promote the growth of breast tissues.

Users claim that the use of herbal product has increased their breast size. The results can be seen after a couple of weeks, but this treatment may not necessarily be effective for every woman. The effectiveness differs from individual to individual depending upon the authenticity of the product, strict adherence to the schedule, individual metabolic rates, and the women’s body chemistry.

Herbal breast enlargement provide hope for the women who want to increase their breast size without surgery. But how many the claims made by its manufacturers are true? There are no conclusive studies done to prove that these herbs work, nor are there many studies done to examine the risk and side effects of consuming herbal products. The claims of the companies of having conducted their own research has not been reported in any medical journal, thus putting a question mark on the authenticity of their claim.

It is a known fact that excess exposure to hormones causes cancer. These herbal products contain estrogens that promotes hormone like activity. This may cause cancer if the products are taken at the recommended doses of the manufacturer.

None of the herbal products have been evaluated or approved by FDA. The FDA and the Better Business Bureau have warned the customers to be alert about words and phrases such as, “miracle, secret remedy, breakthrough and clinical studies prove that…” that may be hard to back up with results.

Though many of the manufacturers provide guarantee of results for their products, it is important for the customers to thoroughly search for factual information on the products and let the doctor know about the product before consuming it. Individuals who are allergic to herbal compounds must not use these products.

Breast Augmentation / Breast Enlargement

The field of cosmetic plastic surgery is a dynamic branch of medicine which continues to grow through modern innovation, technique and researches; this is because of the endless desire for physical perfection by man. Breast Augmentation for example, is now one of most frequently performed cosmetic plastic procedure in the world. The interest for breast enhancement by patients and surgeons alike, continue to evolve as newer methods with improved result are being developed.

At present, more and more women undergo breast augmentation every year as the popularity of the procedure is increasing, especially among women in the entertainment industry. Silicon shelled implants are commonly used for breast enhancement. This implant could be either silicon gel or saline-filled. The implants are used to augment the breast of an individual that lack breast tissue or volume that could be genetically predisposed or environmentally induced. The female breast tissue is primarily composed of gland and fat cells and in the past, surgeons tried to inject the breast with fat that was initially obtained through liposuction from other parts of the body. However, in this day of modern medicine, this is completely unacceptable and obsolete, with undesirable effects such as hardening of the breast due to calcification, etc.. Some women also do hormonal therapy, since some of the female hormone such as estrogen leads to increase in breast size, slightly, but not enough for the majority of women.

At present, the most common and accepted way to increase breast size is via breast implants placement. A breast implant is a sac of silicone elastomer that is either filled with saline or silicone, and is surgically placed under the breast tissue or chest muscle. Silicon oil injection, which used to be performed in the past for breast augmentation had been condemned locally and internationally, since the result are unpredictable and compounded by numerous complication such as extrusion, skin necrosis and infection. Do not allow yourself to be subjected in this kind of procedure, because of its risks and deforming results.

The selection of breast implant size or volume depends on multiple factors such as the proportion of the breast to body height and shoulder width, as well as the location of nipple/areola complex, and cleavage. And because the concept of breast aesthetics are constantly changing, there are many factors such as implant type, size, and incision site that should be considered to tailor the needs of each individual specifically. The incision for implant placement may be placed at various locations of the chest/breast area such as; under the breast or at the breast fold; around the nipple areolar area; in the armpit (axillary); and the latest, at the umbilical area via endoscopic approach. The resulting scars are thin and inconspicuous, especially at the armpit area. Each of this incision has its advantage and disadvantages that must be discussed thoroughly between the patient and surgeon.

Breast implant could be silicone gel or saline filled. Silicon filled implant was popularly used 12 years ago in the United States, until it was thought that it possibly causes autoimmune mediated health problems associated with leakage, that’s why saline implants is now used in most of breast surgeries. At present, silicone implants are now gaining momentum and recent studies had come out, proving the safe use of silicon breast implant in breast enhancement surgery. The advantage of silicone implant is that it is softer and appears more natural. However, leaks may be found in surrounding tissues. Generally, saline is a bit firmer, but it is without the supposed health risks because a leak is simply absorbed by the body.

The final breast size is mainly a personal decision by the patient. There are several ways to estimate the ultimate breast size. This would include the breast cup size, but this is an inexact estimate of the final size, since cup sizes vary with the bra manufacturer and how tight or loose the patient wears her bra, as well as how much breast tissue is already present. But describing the preferred cup size does aid the surgeon. The most accurate method of estimating the implant size is to fill a plastic bag with measured amounts of water or breast implant sizer that is place in a bra with the patient's estimated cup size. One can see with the bra on and covered by a sweater what the final result will approximate.
